1. Go to the dollar store or nearest office store and buy ‘Paper Mate
Clear Point Mechanical Pencils’. I recommend both 0.7 mm and 0.5 mm
because…
1A. 0.7 is good for lining/tracing after sketching with..
1B. 0.5 mm lead. Its a fairly thin lead that I would use for sketching because of its thinness.
2. First, I use ordinary notebook paper for sketches (pencil only), then
printer paper (pencil & ink) then sketch paper (pencil, ink,
coloring tools).
3. Copic markers are very good to use for professional coloring uses,
and that’s what you want. But they ARE very expensive. So what I use are
ordinary markers that are of different shades of each color, they just
aren’t Copic markers. Try 72 packs!
3A. Coloring pencils are good, just get a little sloppy. Be careful. But coloring pencils can be good for shading too!
3B. CRAYONS. NEVER EVER. Unless its a REALLY rough draft or its an emergency.
4. Ink-y pens are really good. Dib pens are better, but sloppy. Fountain pens: GREAT but leaky. Your choice.
4A: Dib pens come with different dibs and ink, just be careful using the ink. Have a FEW (2-8 >.<) paper towels nearby.
4B. INKY PENS YAY!!!
4C. Fountain pens leak through paper. So if you want to take the risk, have a paper towel or two under the drawing page.
Hooray hooray! My favorites! Just one thing: DON’T use them for
coloring. Out lining or pattern coloring only (will explain in another
tutorial soon if you don’t know what it is). Please.
